Confirm the identity
Check the exact model and configuration in the system information, and compare them with the written offer. Confirm memory, storage and operating system. Ask which charger and accessories are included. The quoted condition should identify known defects or limitations rather than relying on a broad term such as “clean”.
Test the functions you will use
Examine the display for defects, try the keyboard and pointing device, connect to Wi-Fi and test the relevant ports. Try a video call if camera and microphone quality matter. Run a representative task with the seller’s agreement. A short demonstration cannot establish every possible fault, but it is more informative than appearance alone.
Ask about support before payment
Clarify the warranty period, what it covers, how a fault is reported and how any return or repair is handled. Get the terms in writing. A buyer should understand whether batteries, accidental damage or pre-existing defects have different treatment, rather than discovering the exclusions after a problem occurs.
Keep a clear record
The receipt should identify the unit, price, date, payment status and agreed condition. Retain the written specifications and support terms. Compare alternatives using the same checklist. Our view is that transparent condition and support information help customers make a more useful choice than an isolated headline price.
